Jackson, William F., of Lake Worth, Florida passed away on July 5, 2011 at home, in Delray Beach, Florida following a battle with cancer. He leaves his wife of fifty nine years, Helen Jackson, three sons Kenneth Jackson, Thomas Jackson, Bill Jackson, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, brothers Richard Jackson and Kenneth Jackson, sisters Nina Jamison and Etta Ruth Fredricks, as well as many close friends. William was born and raised in McDonald, Pennsylvania on February 19, 1932 the fourth of seven children and eldest of three sons of William and Nina Jackson. William from his early youth was always a true patriot and proud American. On January 12, 1950 at the age of seventeen he enlisted in the Marine Corps. William Jackson participated in combat operations against North Korean Forces in Seoul, the Chosin Campaign and Central Korea from September 21, 1950 to August 9, 1951. October 30, 1958 he was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps and pursued a career in the construction industry. In 1961 William Jackson and his family moved to South Florida where he continued his career in the construction industry. In 1972 he founded W. Jackson & Sons Construction Co. with his brother Richard, his 3 sons and only a few employees and proceeded to grow to be one of the most respected and prominent site preparation companies in South Florida with more than three hundred employees. William greatly enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He loved to travel throughout the world spending much of his time touring the United States and Canada in his RV motor home with good friends and family. Bill greatly enjoyed a wide circle of friends from his activities in construction, military, sports, and church. He enjoyed keeping in contact with Korean War veterans, attending numerous reunions coordinated through "The Chosin Few" publication. He was an active member of Florida Gardens Baptist Church in Lake Worth, Florida. Bill Jackson became a "Born Again Christian" in June of 1972 when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the Pompano Beach Church of God. He was always faithful (Semper Fi) to God, Country and Family. He was a leader of men and supported schools and businesses around the world. William helped build many local churches as well as in Central and South America. He was selfless with his time, a true philanthropist in every sense of the word. A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2011 at Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, FL. 33449.
