William Michael Grourke-Scholar 4/8/1960-5/11/2016
Bill was born in Pawtucket RI to Joseph E and Florence A (Sullivan) Grourke.
He was the youngest of three children. He resided at 80 Blaisdell Avenue Pawtucket RI until 1967, at which time he moved to 15 Hatch Rd, Attleboro, MA. His father owned Pleasant Pharmacy, on Pleasant St, in Attleboro for many years.
Bill attended St Mary's School Pawtucket, Willett School Attleboro and both AHS in Attleboro MA and Tolman in Pawtucket RI during his high school years, graduating in the class of 1978.
Bill was married to James Friedman for 15 years and then later to Mitchell Scholar for 20 years, with whom he resided at the time of his death.
He had lived in New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and, most recently, Florida.
Being the life of the party was always his best known attribute. He had an overpowering voice, knew every show tune to ever hit Broadway and the minutia he could converse with you about would last forever if you allowed it. He sat with celebrities, bowed to royalty and laughed in the face of anyone that didn't think he was worthy of greatness. Strong willed and gregarious, good looking and well aware Bill made it happen.
He was an intelligent man, with a great sense of humor and a keen sense for things most of us would call impossible.
Bill spent many years breeding, showing and judging Cairn Terriers. He was considered an expert in the field and spent his life sharing his knowledge.
He was well educated, well traveled and well versed in almost any subject. His sense of humor was the only thing to precede him before he entered a room.
He was pre deceased by his parents and an older brother, Joseph E Grourke Jr. He leaves an older sister, Patricia Grourke DAgostino, in Florida.
