William (Bill) F. Canavan Jr., 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 22, 2012. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and son to the late William F. Canavan Sr. and his wife Adelaide and stepson to the late Paul McKeon. Bill is survived by his wife, Helen of 55 years, 3 children, William F. Canavan III and wife Patti of Jamesport NY, Keith B. Canavan and wife Denise of Wellington FL, Dorothy L. Noble and husband Darrell of Longmont CO and 7 grandchildren, William F. Canavan IV and Hunter Canavan of Jamesport NY, Nicholas and Christopher Canavan of Wellington FL and Kaeyla, Alaina and Alexander Noble of Longmont CO. He is also survived by 3 brothers, Franklin Canavan of New Milford CT, Kenneth Canavan of Manalapan NJ, Kevin McKeon and wife Julie of Long Island NY and 2 sisters, Dolores Giaramita and husband Nick of Wellington FL and Valerie Buette and husband Bob of Hampstead NC.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1954-1962. He always said it's "the best outfit in the world". He served in Japan and as an Admiral's Orderly at the Brooklyn Navy Yard before settling down with his wife and children in Massapequa, NY. He was a loving and devoted Husband, Father and Marine his entire life and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 26th at Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, FL 33449. The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.
