Vincent Silvester, 83, of Lake Worth, Florida, passed on, Tuesday, April 11th, 2012 due to natural causes. He was born in New York, New York on November 6th, 1928 to the late Vincent & Gertrude (Young) Silvester. He graduated from the School of Industrial Arts which was the basis for a lifelong love art. Upon graduation, he immediately enlisted in the Army and was in the Airborne Infantry during WWII. As a result he was disabled losing eyesight in one eye but this never held him back from painting or from pursuing many other careers and interests in his life. Following in the footsteps of his father, he became a building contractor and Freemason and worked in New York, Florida and South Carolina. He went on to own 2 different restaurants and also tried his hand at farming in South Carolina. He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He won various awards for his painting and through medical intervention regained sight in his injured eye while in his 70's. His talent for painting only improved along with his amazing productivity, often finishing a large painting in less than a week.

Vinnie was always great company with his colorful stories and great sense of humor. He kept himself busy painting, making creative and delicious soups for everyone and hanging out with his friends at the VFW. He was painting up until a few days before passed and his friends and family are very fortunate to have his masterpieces hanging in their homes.

and is the Father of Nancy Tibero, Vickie Ware and Gail;
Brother of Carole Browne, Angela Jacobsen, Richard Silvester; Dear Uncle to Lorrie Browne and Denise Driscoll. He will be missed by many dear friends and relatives.

Inurnment Services for Vincent will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth with military honors.
