Obituary

Ula V Porter earned her wings on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Wellington Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Florida.

Ula was born, one of nine siblings, in Jamaica but has lived in Florida since becoming a proud resident and then citizen of the United States nearly 2 decades ago.

Ula was affectionately called "Trouble" because of her outspokenness, but renown and loved by hundreds who had first-hand experience of her friendliness and kindness.  When she loved you, she would do anything for you, including taking the train and buses to come to your aid in another county, if you needed her.

Ula's ultimate dream of becoming an RN was interrupted when life took her on a detour, but nonetheless she pursued her passion and calling to care for others first as an HHA and then as a CNA.  She was loyal and loving to her patients and brought much needed comfort and empathy to her patients' family members, most notably, David Roth and Rick Bacher—who grew to become close and loving friends in the years that followed.

Ula's  love of people extended even beyond nursing to her personally feeding the homeless and giving to charitable causes that would impact serving others.

She will be remembered forever for her unwavering love and loyalty.  She will also be remembered for her infectious laugh and a melodious singing voice that you could hear on occasions where she was praising God in her own way.

Ula is survived by her two children - daughter, Pamela Jo and son Rory (Jessica) - whom she loved dearly.  Her beloved grandchildren, Samuel Wilson, Johnathan Wilson and Christina Porter.  Plus a host of other relatives and dear friends whom she loved like family.

Drive-by visitation will be held Saturday, July 25th, starting at 10am followed by a Celebration of Life  at 12 noon at the Palm Beach National Chapel in Lake Worth, that due to COVID-19 is limited to immediate family members, relatives and confirmed guests.

Strict CDC guidelines will be followed including the wearing of masks and social distancing.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Palm Beach National Chapel.
