IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stanley
Wilson
March 19, 1927 – April 28, 2023
Stanley "Stan" Wilson, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2023. Born on March 19, 1927, in London, England, he was a remarkable man whose resilience, wit, and warmth touched the lives of all who knew him.
Stan is survived by his wife, Irma Leifer; his children, Glenn Wilson, and Cherie Heuser; his grandchildren, Stephanie Kaufman, Jennifer Kamens, Lindsay Reibach, Cameron Wilson, Gwyneth Heuser, and Julian Heuser; and three beautiful great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Florence Wilson; his daughter, Michele Kamens; and his sister, Francis Lake.
A World War II-era veteran, Stan joined the U.S. Army Signal Corps in 1950 to help his parents, Louis and Gertrude, immigrate to the United States. He attended RCA Engineering School and went on to have a distinguished career as a nuclear engineer troubleshooter at General Electric.
Stan's life was marked by his love for travel, cruises, and fine dining. He also had a talent for electrical repair work and often lent a helping hand to those in need. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, to whom he imparted the importance of traditional family values rooted in his Jewish faith.
With a dry, British sense of humor, Stan had a knack for making others laugh, often sharing pearls of wisdom with his son like, "There's nothing you can do that I haven't done already." And to his grandson Cameron like "no matter how tall you get, you'll never be as big as me." Stan's experiences living through the Nazi invasion of England during World War II instilled in him a profound sense of resilience and determination that shaped the rest of his life.
Stan will be remembered for his unwavering love, understanding, and support as a husband, father, and grandfather. His charismatic presence, gentlemanly demeanor, and charming smile will be dearly missed by his cousin Gerald Simmons, nephew Mark Lake, son-in-law Ira Leifer, his son's loving girlfriend Gina Crockett, and the countless friends he made throughout his life.
A funeral service for Stanley Wilson will be held on May 11, 2023, at 11:15 AM at Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farm Road, Lake Worth, FL, 33449. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made on behalf of Lilian Crockett to phacesyndromecommunity.org in support of PHACES research.
