Sarah Eva Lyons, of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away on May 18, 2022. Sarah was born on December 26, 1924 to Salvatore and Vincenza Guarnieri in Pittston, Pennsylvania.

After graduation from high school Sarah moved to Washington, DC to work for the State Department. In 1952 she met Hugh Lyons and they wed in 1953 and had four children – Virginia Hale, David (Elizabeth) Lyons, Mark (Denise) Lyons, and Susan (Frederick) Gallagher. They are also blessed with three grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Sarah and Hugh moved to Susquehanna, Pennsylvania in the late 1950s where they raised their children. Sarah was very involved in the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, being a troop leader and den mother. She was employed by the Susquehanna Community School District for over 20 years.

Upon retirement they moved to South Florida. She has lived in Boynton Beach Leisureville for approximately 20 years. Sarah was very involved in the Leisureville community and was the Chairperson for the monthly Harmony Club dances; the yearly Leisureville Flea Market; member of the Computer Club and other organizations. She also wrote a monthly article for the Leisureville Community Newspaper. One of her favorite things to do was volunteering at the Boynton Beach Library, which she did for a number of years.
Sarah's first and foremost dedication was being a fantastic and wonderful mother. She excelled at propping up her family and supported them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives.

There will be a memorial service at Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, Florida on June 7 at 10am.
