Rochelle King Obituary 

                Rochelle (Shelley) King passed away peacefully in Delray Beach, Florida on May 11, 2026, with her loving husband Bob Arkin at her side. Born in Blue Island, Illinois, Shelley grew up and graduated from Bloom High School in 1956, and then went on to attend Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. Throughout her life, Shelley embraced family in all of its forms. She was a loving mother, step-mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, whose home and heart was always open. She shared chapters of her life through three marriages, each contributing to the rich tapestry of relationships and experiences that shaped her journey. In addition to her family, Shelley had a passion for reading, golf, teaching and playing canasta, and fashion, as well as volunteer work within her community and at Bethesda Hospital in Boynton Beach. She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Arkin; brother Roland King; children Bruce, Bari, Lucy, Marilyn, Charlie, Debbie, Mary, Ed, and Cindy; and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren who called her “GG.” Shelley will be remembered for her resilience, independence, elegant spirit, and lasting impact that she had on everyone fortunate to have known her. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life.
