In Loving Memory of Robert Sindone
March 22, 1938 – September 3, 2026
Robert Sindone, beloved husband, father to Bobby, Maria , Carolina and Loretta , grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 88.
Robert was a hardworking and determined man who devoted his life to protecting others and providing for those he loved. He proudly served in the United States Air Force before beginning a distinguished career with the New York City Police Department. During his 28 years with the department, he rose to the rank of Homicide Detective. After retiring from the NYPD, he continued serving as a police officer with the Gulfstream Police Department for another 10 years.
Robert married his beloved wife, Lucille, on September 17, 1958. They shared 57 years of marriage until her passing on August 19, 2015. Lucille was the love of his life, and he missed her deeply in the years that followed. Their anniversary would have been 68 years this September. As we say goodbye to Dad, we find comfort in imagining him reunited with Mom, where he always longed to be.
Those who knew Robert knew he had a personality all his own. He loved to tell jokes—nonstop and could bring humor into almost any situation. His quick wit and unmistakable sense of humor brought laughter to those around him.
Dad was equally particular about how things were done. In his world, his way was usually the right way, and we often laughed, shook our heads, and followed his instructions anyway. Those familiar habits and strong opinions are now cherished reminders of the man he was.
Robert leaves behind a legacy of courage, humor, determination, and love. His children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends will carry forward the stories, laughter, routines, and memories that made him unforgettable.
Dad, you protected others, cared for your family, and loved Mom with all your heart. You endured the loss of those closest to you and carried them with you throughout your life. May you now be at peace, reunited with Mom, Dennis, Lorraine, and Dennis Jr., whom you missed so dearly.
