Robert
Shuster
Feb 19, 1942 — Feb 28, 2019
Robert S. Shuster, born February 19, 1942, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2019 in his family home in Boca Raton, Florida. Bob was born in Newark, New Jersey to Jack and Libby Shuster.
A devoted husband, he and his wife Judith met when they were both 17 years old and married in 1964 in Newark. They had three admiring children, David, Adrienne, and Marc. After service in the U.S. Army and Air Force Reserves, Bob became a successful precious metals trader on Wall Street, working at several notable firms, including Goldman Sachs. His career led him to travel the world. After living in New Jersey and Connecticut, Bob and Judy retired to South Florida in 1995, where they became involved in the local community.
Bob was a family man in every sense. Nothing was more important to Bob than his children. He rarely missed their sporting and academic events and frequently volunteered as their coach. He was the loving and proud grandfather of eight grandchildren with each of whom he was very close. Known for his keen sense of humor and integrity, Bob developed strong and close friendships with many people. Countless people identified Bob as their closest and most trusted friend.
Bob was a car enthusiast and was heavily involved in the leadership of the local chapters of various sports car clubs. Until shortly before his passing, Bob served as a high-performance driving instructor and enjoyed many years of driving in amateur race-track events at tracks around the country. He was an avid football fan; go Jets!
Bob is survived by his wife Judith Shara Shuster and their three children (and spouses) David J. (and Cindy) Shuster, Adrienne K. Shuster (and Tom) Zack, and Marc S. (and Lilian) Shuster, and by his brother Sanford I. Shuster. Bob is also survived by his eight loving grandchildren: Jack, Scott, and Adam Shuster; Rachel and Nathan Zack; and Rita, Alexander, and Theodore Shuster.
He was laid to rest on March 3, 2019 at the Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boyton Beach, Florida in a funeral service attended by a large gathering of family members and friends.
