IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert M.
Charles
June 17, 1947 – October 27, 2025
In Loving Memory of Robert Michael Charles
1947 - 2025
Robert Michael Charles, 78, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran and friend whose life was filled with laughter, love and unforgettable memories.
Robert was born on June 17, 1947 and raised in Valley Stream, NY, to Donald and Marie Charles. He grew up in a large, loving family with six brothers and sisters, and remained very close to them throughout his life.
He married his high school sweetheart, Ann, and together they built a beautiful life over 61 years. Their love was the kind you only read about–loving, loyal and full of laughter. During their time together in New York, and later in Florida, they raised three wonderful children. His greatest pride was watching them grow into kind, caring, strong individuals and start families of their own.
He became a proud grandpa in 2006 welcoming his first grandchild and eventually four in total. Being "Papa"/"Grandpa" was his absolute greatest joy! Each grandchild held a special place in his heart, and he made sure they all knew how deeply loved they were. Whether it be the bleachers of the baseball games, the sidelines of the soccer fields or the late-night gaming sleepovers, he made every moment special-creating the kind of memories that last a lifetime.
Family was everything to him, and his love didn't stop with his own grandchildren. He shared a special bond with his many nieces and nephews as well. "Uncle Bobby" was always ready with a joke, or a helping hand and got such joy in seeing them grow and begin families of their own.
A proud Marine, Robert lived his life with the same strength, honor and loyalty he carried while serving his country. He proudly served in the Vietnam War as a member of the 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion.
He was a lifelong fan of the Seminoles, Yankees and Giants; and loved watching them play, win-or-lose. The beach was one of his favorite places, but his favorite days were the ones spent watching his grandson play baseball and his granddaughter play soccer–cheering loudly, beaming with pride.
Those who knew him will remember his kind heart, his love for his family, his sense of humor and the way he could make anyone feel like family. His love for life was contagious and the memories he leaves behind will be forever cherished because as he would always say, "that's what it's all about.".
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Ann; their three children [Ryan (Courtney), Danny (Brandi) and Casey (Alex)]; and his four adored grandchildren [Logan, Jackson, Camryn and Shane]. He also leaves behind many extended family members and lifelong friends who will miss him deeply.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 6, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Palm Beach National Funeral Home and Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, Florida, 33449. The family will receive friends starting at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow the Celebration of Life at 1 PM at South Florida National Cemetery.
