Richard Bernard Kampsen, 80, of Lantana passed peacefully on October 18, 2017. He was born to Rosalie and Richard Kampsen on December 3, 1936 in Covington, Kentucky.
He proudly served our country in the U. S. Marines Corps for six years. After completing his tour he went on to become a painting contractor in Miami, Florida. Richard later moved to West Palm Beach and became a maintenance supervisor for Martinique Condos on Singer Island. He enjoyed his work and the friendships he formed while there.
After retiring he volunteered at many local golf courses. He loved attending any and all golf tournaments so he could catch a glimpse of his favorite players in action. Richard had many passions, but his favorite by far was golf. He also enjoyed watching the Miami Hurricanes and Miami Dolphins on the weekends. When he wasn't filling his day with football or golf he also liked to catch a horse race.
Richard was a loving and caring husband. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and we will treasure many wonderful memories of him forever.
Survivors include his beloved wife of over 25 years, Pat McGlynn, his son Michael Kampsen, his daughter Robbie Kampsen, grandchildren: Tiffany Hol (Jason), Ronnie Schille (Becca), Nicole Sims (Chris), Damian Bowers, Tristan, Sammy, Tyler and Kaitlyn Kampsen, Jake and Colin Albee, and Jennifer Peper (Mike), great grandchildren: Chad, Audri, JoJo, CJ and Hayley, stepchildren Sue Martter (Jay) and Katie Albee.
