Rhoda Eschwege of Delray Beach passed away in Hospice of Palm Beach County on October 22, 2013 at the age of 86. Rhoda is survived by Arnold, the love of her life and husband of 64 years, their 2 daughters Basha Nachison of Lakewood , NJ and Ellen Eschwege of Collins,NY, brother Murray Nelson of Manhasset, NY as well as 13 grandchildren and 34 great-
grandchildren. Her family was the center of her life.
Rhoda was born in Brooklyn, NY to Rose and Herman Nelson. Rhoda was a sensitive, caring person. She attended Cooper Union art school and went into advertising as a lifelong profession. She married Arnold on October 22, 1949. Barbara (now Basha) and Linda (who passed away in May 2012) were born in 1952 and 1955 respectively while they were living in Brooklyn. They moved to Buffalo, NY in 1959 and Ellen was born there in 1963. Rhoda and Arnold lived in Buffalo until they moved to Delray Beach in 2002. Rhoda loved her family more
than anything in the world and she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Rhoda's other passion was art. She was an active member of numerous art societies and wonseveral art awards. Her paintings grace the homes of many patrons. It was in her canvases that she had complete freedom to express her soul and show us a little bit of the divine in her; this was the other part of her legacy.
She will be missed greatly.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in honor of Rhoda to:
