SFC Reginald Roderick Hughey was born September 16, 1965 to Annie Hughey-Smith. Reginald graduated from Cocoa High School. He then enlisted into the United States Army in September 1985. Over the next 13 years, Reginald's various military assignments were Fort Ord California, Germany, Fort Lewis Washington and South Korea. He then left the United States Army in June of 1998. Reginald then proceeded to join the Florida Army National Guard. In April 2003, Reggie was deployed to Tikrit, Iraq. He spent the following year fighting for the freedom of the United States. Upon returning to Fort Lauderdale, Reginald was assigned as a Recruiter for the Florida Army National Guard. He has spent the last year and a half working as a Career Counselor for the 260th Military Intelligence Ballard Armory in Miami, Florida. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8: 00 pm Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, FL 33449. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, February 1st at the funeral home. Reggie will be laid to rest in South Florida National Cemetery with full military honors.
