Rafael Barrientos, 94, of Loxahatchee, FL entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 15 2023.  He is survived by his spouse, Rocio Barrientos, children Rocio and Laura, son-in-law Felix Dunn and his grandchildren, Alexander, Jacob and Michael.

Rafael was born November 19, 1928 to Rafael Barrientos and Laura Nicholls in Fredonia, Colombia.  He spent his earlier years in Colombia, then moved to Oklahoma to learn English and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served 4 years.  He then returned to Colombia, where he became a cargo airline pilot.  He met and married his wife, Rocio, in 1972, to whom he was married for 51 years and he welcomed two daughters.

He was known for his enjoyment of all things aircraft, an appreciation of tango music, and merriment in the company of friends.  He was also known to distribute dollar bills to his grandkids at nearly every family occasion, a tradition the young kids delighted in and will be terribly missed.
