Michael L. Diesel
Age 92, of Lake Worth, FL, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at his residence. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he had been a resident of Lake Worth for twenty five years, coming from New York. Prior to retirement, he retired as a New York City Police Officer with twenty-three years service and later worked for fifteen years as a Crossing Guard with the Boynton Beach Police Dept. He was a Life Member of the VFW Post 5335. He was a Navy veteran participating in the D Day Invasion during World War II receiving the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, European Theater Ribbon and the Victory Ribbon. The US Navy will conduct Military Honors following the Mass.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille A. Diesel of Lake Worth; three sons, Michael of Medford, NY, Dennis Diesel of Westtown, NY and Keith Diesel of Chesterfield, VA; one daughter, Lorraine Berardi of Port Jefferson, NY; two sisters, Tillie Bosch of Florida and Theresa McLean of NY; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon, Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6090 Hypoluxo Road, Lake Worth, FL. Friends are invited to meet with the family from 10AM until 11:30 AM Wednesday at the Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, FL.
