Age 79 of Wellington, FL passed away peacefully on January 1, 2013. Maurice was born on November 6, 1933 in Gatineau, Quebec. Because of his athletic abilities, Maurice was recruited from the Quebec school system by St. Patrick's High School in Ottawa, Ontario and became a member of the "Fighting Irish" known for their athletic prowess. After graduation, Maurice enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served until 1955 as a Teletype repairman stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. Upon completion of his military service, Maurice enrolled in the University of Ottawa to complete his education.

Maurice became the east coast manager for a national rental company, Merlin Car Rental, and traveled from Maine to Florida supervising their operations. He eventually settled in West Palm Beach and for the next 35 years owned automotive related businesses in West Palm Beach, Sarasota, Miami and Tampa.

Maurice is survived by his wife, Sharon; sisters, Jean Koski; Margaret Ann Woodard (Jerry); Kathleen Koen; and Maureen Schisler (Carl). Maurice is also survived by devoted sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Wellington, Florida on Thursday January 10, 2013 at 10:00 am. An inurnment will immediately follow with a Marine honor guard at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County.
