Mary L. Houston, 84, of Lake Worth, FL, entered eternal rest on Thursday March 10, 2022.

She is survived by her daughters Laurie McGary , Doreen Cannon, and Kathleen Blandford; sons-in-law Scott McGary and Bill Cannon; grandchildren Michael McGary and wife Brittany , Samantha McGary , Derek Blandford, Caleb Cannon and wife Alesia , and Sharnard Banks; great grandchildren Colin Reed, Roxanne McGary , Charlotte McGary , and Joshua Cannon ; and her eldest sister, Jean Shallenberger. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Houston, and siblings Robert Shaver, Patricia Everett, and Betty Adgate .

Mary was born July 3, 1937 to Robert and Ruby Shaver in Highland Park , MI. Mary grew up in Warren, Ohio and moved to Fort Lauderdale in 19 5 7 w here she met Joe and they married in 1959. They raised their three daughters in Margate, FL before moving to Lake Worth in 1998. Mary and Joe were married for 52 years before Joe's passing in 2012. Mary worked as a bank officer until retiring, then worked part-time as a florist while enjoying time with her grandchildren.

Mary was a beloved mother and was treasured by all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A private family graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 5 at 2:30 , at the National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her honor to the National Breast Cancer F oundatio n ( https://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/ ) or Trustbridge Hospice Care ( https://trustbridge.com/ ).
