Obituary

Marvin Craig Alberts, 96, of Delray Beach, Florida, Passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026. He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on October 7, 1929. He was the son of the late Samuel "Sam" & Rebecca "Reba" Alberts. He was a graduate of Central High School in St.  Joseph, Missouri, where he excelled in playing the trumpet in many school and swing bands. He joined the Marine Corp when the Korean War broke out and served from 1950-1952. After serving in the Marines, he graduated from University of Missouri with a B.S. degree in Business Administration with post graduate work in the Journalism school for TV & radio.

Marvin was involved in his family business, Alberts Furniture & Appliances in St. Joseph, Missouri, for over 15 years. He actively participated in service clubs, bank groups, Chamber of Commerce and Urban Renewal and was a Lifetime member of the Masons, Scottish Rite & Shriners.

After the family business closed, he and his family then moved to Chicago, where he joined General Electric and was later transferred to Florida. Several years later, he was hired by Sony as Florida's Regional Sales Manager. In due course, his electronic and appliance
experience was solicited by RCA Seacoast Distributors as a General Manager. He took pride in helping talented associates obtain higher level positions. Eventually, he started his own company AV Marketing which later became Alvent Distributors for 14 years. After residing in Coral Springs for 30 years, he and Kathy retired and moved to Delray Beach.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kathleen, 3 children: Barry Alberts(deceased), Cheri Snelten (Scott), Michael Alberts (Lora), and former daughter-in-law Cammy. He is also survived by his brother Eugene Alberts (Iris). Deceased brothers are Burton Alberts (Florence), Robert Alberts (Maribel) and ex-wife (now deceased) Barbara Alberts. Additional relatives are sisters-in-law Carol Wazyniak (Joseph), Nancy Robon (Marvin), Joanie Cugier (now deceased) and brother-in-law James E. Cugier (now deceased).

Other survivors are grandchildren Megan Edwards (Sam), Kenny, Kylie, Korey (Alyssa), Chad (Rachelle), and Lexi; great-grandchildren: Preston, Leighton, Emma, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Marvin will be remembered as a devoted husband and Father. He loved spending time with family and friends. He liked playing golf in his younger days and loved attending FAU Jazz Band Concerts, watching his beloved Miami Dolphins, Miami Hurricanes, and of course, his alma mater, "Mizzou" Football. He had a very generous and happy nature and cracked jokes about everything. Marv enjoyed living at Delray Golf and Country Club and attended many activities with friends and family there.

Funeral Services will be at Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, Florida on Wednesday, February 18 at 12:30 pm.

Military ceremony and burial will be at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 State Rd 7, Lake Worth, Florida on Wednesday, February 25 at 12:30 pm.
