It is with heavy heart we announce the sudden passing of our son Mark A. Mathis, who passed away Sunday
evening, September 18, 2022, at his home in Lantana, FL. He is survived by his son, Kaden Mathis, his father,
Harris S. Mathis Jr, and his wife Susan Mathis, his mother, Terry Woods Mathis, Robert Golisek, stepbrother,
Jason Mudgett, and James Mudgett. He is proceeded in death by his grandparents Harris S. Mathis and
Matilda D. Mathis who taught Mark to play golf which he loved throughout his life.
Mark was born July 2 nd , 1968, in Valdosta, Ga. Mark and his family moved to Atlanta in 1973. He graduated
from Northside High School and attended Georgia State University. He worked in the restaurant business
which included Atlanta Fish Market where he was promoted to assistant manager.
He moved to south Florida in 1998 and worked as the food and beverage manager at the Four Points Hotel in
Pompano Beach, FL. He later became the restaurant manager at Champions Gate in Davenport, FL. While
living in the Orlando area, he spent many happy days with his son, Kaden, enjoying amusement parks and
other attractions. More recently Mark worked as the assistant manager of Walgreens in Delray Beach, FL.
Services will be held at Palm Beach National Chapel, Lake Worth, FL. on October 7 th , 2022, at 1:00 PM.
Graveside services will be in at Sunset Cemetery in Valdosta, GA. on Sunday, October 9 th at 3:00 PM.
