Obituary

Marie "Murray" Anne Miraglia, a woman whose life was marked by unwavering independence, visionary thinking, and a passion for creativity, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, in Delray Beach, Florida. Born in the vibrant city of New York, New York, on June 26, 1925, Murray’s journey was one characterized by dedication, entrepreneurial spirit, and an enduring love for the art of home transformation.

For two decades, Murray distinguished herself as a Complaint Manager, demonstrating a keen ability to resolve challenges with grace and determination. Her professional pursuits were complemented by her role as the proud owner and operator of John’s Drive-in in Montauk, New York, a testament to her business acumen and deep connection to community life. Beyond her professional endeavors, Murray found profound joy in refurbishing and redecorating homes, her natural flair for design illuminating every project she undertook. Her interiors were not merely spaces but reflections of a soul that cherished beauty and detail.

Murray’s personality was one marked by self-motivation and resilience. She was an independent spirit, unafraid to forge her own path, and a visionary thinker whose ideas often inspired those around her. Her contributions to the fields she touched and the lives she influenced will long be remembered and cherished.

She leaves behind a loving family who were the center of her world. Her devoted daughter, Charlotte Orgel, and son-in-law, David Orgel, stand as pillars of her legacy. The family circle extends lovingly to her grandchildren, Darren Orgel and his wife Anna, Ashley Slifka and her husband Gabriel, who carry forward her spirit and values. Marie's great-grandchildren—Luke Slifka, Owen Slifka, and Mai-Anne Orgel—represent the vibrant continuation of her family’s lineage, each a living tribute to her enduring influence and care.

Murray’s beloved husband of 75 years, Louis R. Miraglia, predeceased her—a profound loss that shadows her remarkable narrative. Their lifelong partnership is a poignant chapter in her story, one of devotion and unwavering companionship.
