Maria J. Martindale, 54, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017. Born November 10, 1962, in Dearborn, Michigan, Maria was the daughter of Umberta F. Martindale and the late Wales C. Martindale III. Maria is survived by her two children, Adelia DeMarsico and Kyle Sargent; her mother; her siblings, Kent Martindale, Adelia Van Meter and Wales Martindale; and best friend, Thomas Foster.

Maria was both loyal and strong, and according to her brother Wales, "If you had Maria in your corner, then you'd have an army that no one could defeat." She had a beautiful, booming laugh that could light up a room, and a spirit that could not be broken. She loved deeply, and was dedicated to her family and work. Maria was a lover of music and nature, and enjoyed the simple things in life. Some of what brought her joy was spending time with her loved ones, taking long drives with the windows down, reading outside in her hammock, walking nature trails and passing the day at the beach.

Anyone who knew Maria can attest to her strength and unwavering devotion to her children, Adelia and Kyle. Through much sacrifice and dedication, as a single mother she successfully put her children through several years of private schooling and best equipped them with the educational foundation needed to realize their dreams. Maria wholeheartedly believed in her children's potential, and through her steadfast love, guidance and empowerment they are now creating the future their mother knew they could.

While Maria will be missed, we can find comfort that she is with her grandmother, Adelia Corsetti, and father, Wales Martindale III, both of which were very dear to her.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. with a Service to begin at 12:30 P.M.
