Maria Knopow, 86, died, Tuesday, October 09, 2012. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm at the Palm Beach National Chapel, on Friday, October 12, 2012. Rabbi Richard Polirer will be residing.
Maria was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and moved to the United States in 1955. She was married to Lazaro Safryraba in 1946 and had 3 daughters, Diana, Bea and Lily. Maria worked as a dressmaker and had her own tailor shop while she lived in the Philadelphia area. After her husband's death in 1972 she married Joseph Knopow in 1979. She lived in San Mateo with her husband and after Joseph's death in 1990, Maria moved to FL where she lived near her daughters Diana & Bea and their families.
Maria enjoyed traveling all over the world and very frequently went to see her family in Buenos Aires, especially her daughter, Lily and her family. She enjoyed donating her time to help in hospitals and volunteered with several senior help groups. Her hobbies were sewing, playing cards, going to shows and movies but most of all; she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Maria is survived by her children, Diana Ackerman and husband Gene Ackerman, Bea Saver and husband Jerry Saver, Lily Mindlis and husband Ruben Mindlis, stepson Jeff Knopow and his wife Polly Santucci, her grandchildren, Gregg Ackerman, Stacie Ackerman, Lori and Almog Veig, Alejandro Mindlis and Melissa Mindlis, and her great-grandchildren, Michael Ackerman, Julia Ackerman and Maya Veig.
