With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for the years shared, we announce the peaceful passing of Malcolm Bennett Olins, who left this world on his 97th birthday, May 27, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, on May 27, 1929, Malcolm lived a life rich with love, laughter, and a steadfast devotion to his family, friends, and community.

The beloved son of Philip Olins and Belle Slemovitz Bishunsky, Malcolm grew up in New Haven, embodying the values of kindness, generosity, and warmth that he carried throughout his life. Predeceased by his parents, Malcolm's legacy continues through his cherished family: his devoted wife of nearly 45 years, Betty Bryant Olins; his beloved daughter, Robyn Gayle Olins; and his treasured grandson, Reign Gage Olins.

Malcolm was a man of service and dedication. He served honorably in the U.S. Military during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953, a commitment that demonstrated his unwavering sense of duty. Upon returning to civilian life, he pursued his education at Quinnipiac College in Hamden, Connecticut and subsequently Bentley College in Boston, Massachusetts, where he earned an Associate Degree in Accounting. This academic achievement paved the way for his long and respected career as an Accountant for the State of Connecticut for 39 years, retiring in 1992.

Married to Betty Bryant on July 26, 1981, Malcolm was not only a devoted husband but also a supportive father and doting grandfather. He enjoyed in the joys of family life, creating countless memories filled with laughter and love.

An avid tennis player, Malcolm was a familiar face at the Valencia Shores Tennis Club, where his presence both on the courts and on the sidelines was a source of inspiration and camaraderie. His quick wit and warm smile were his trademarks, always ready with a joke to lighten the mood and make others feel welcome. His kindness extended beyond the court to his four-legged friend, Buddy, who he loved to walk while engaging with neighbors.

Malcolm's involvement with the Men’s Club provided him with cherished friendships and the pleasure of shared luncheons and conversations. His ability to connect with others and his infectious humor left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Wellington Regional Hospital for their extensive care and compassion during Malcolm's final days. In lieu of flowers, donations in Malcolm’s memory may be made to K9's for Warriors, an organization close to his heart.
