Obituary

LOUIS R. (LOU) MONTELLO

Lou Montello passed away at the home that he loved on October 17, 2020 with his loving wife, Rosemarie Montello, at his side. Lou and  Rosemarie, shared 29 magical years together.  They were extremely close to each other often referring to each other as best friend.  Rarely did they walk together without holding hands.  They traveled extensively and relished every moment that they lived in New York City, whether it was walking the paths of Central and Riverside Parks, enjoying the theater and symphony or merely sitting in their home and watching boats ply the East River.

Lou was a devoted and loyal husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on April 3, 1936 to his father, Steven Montello and his mother, Lucy (Coviello) Montello.  Lou was survived by his sister, Catherine Archanbault, and his sons.

Lou has four (4) sons, Louis Montello, Jr., Mark Montello, Steven Montello and Christopher Montello and eleven (11) grandchildren, Kevin Montello, David Montello, Daniel Montello, Kyle Montello, Adam Montello, Leah Montello, Mark Montello, JJ Montello, Angelina Montello, Brielle Montello and Michelle Montello. Lou was a devoted father and grandfather and very proud of his sons and grandchildren and cherished the time that he spent with his children and grandchildren.

Lou enjoyed playing golf , bocce, canasta and meeting with his childhood friends. One of  Lou's greatest passions was dining at fine restaurants particularly if  Italian food was served.

Lou was the owner of Arm Agency in Stamford, Connecticut for many years.  He was known as an excellent and honest insurance agent.  His outgoing personality endeared many people to him.  In fact, drawn by his winning personality, many of his clients became lifelong friends.

Lou will be forever remembered for his beautiful smile, caring heart, warm sense of humor, loving embrace and unconditional love.  Lou left a permanent mark etched on the hearts of many and he will be sorely missed.

Lou  will be honored on October 23, 2020 at the National Cemetery located on State Road 7.
