Louis E. Mango, 86, of Lake Worth, Florida entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 11, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Gaysowski Mango as well as his children Edward Mango, James Mango, and Marie Walker (Mango). Also left to cherish his memory are his 7 grandchildren, Robert, Maria, Chase, Carson, Bailee, Marissa, and Bryce: his two step-grandchildren, Jennifer, and Christopher; and his four great grandchildren, Cecily, Violet, Liam, and Emma. He is survived by his older brother, Joseph Mango his family and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by Baby John Mango, his brother Francis Mango and parents, Daniel, and Mary Mango.
Louis was born on October 17, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois to his parents Daniel and Mary Mango. He attended Hay Elementary School and Austin High School in Chicago, Illinois. Louis served our country in the Air Force for four years. Louis married the love of his life, Helen on June 6, 1959. He continued his studies of Airframe and Power Plant at Louis College in Romeoville, Illinois. Together Louis and Helen built a loving family. They lived 53 years in South Florida. Louis worked his passion as an aircraft mechanic for 55 years; 22 years with Braniff Airlines and finished his career in the corporate aircraft business.
Louis had a light that shone around his outgoing personality. His loving, kind, and compassionate personality made everyone feel comfortable and loved in his presence. Everyone he met would leave with a smile, even on a simple trip to the store. Louis had a great sense of humor that he shared with all those around him. Louis is known for his love of family, his strong work ethic, and his positive attitude about life. Louis was devoted to his Catholic faith and the church. Louis was a creative wood working craftsman who designed many unique pieces. You would also find him working in his garden. In his later years, Louis found a love of cooking and baking Italian cookies. Louis was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Matthew's Church Men's Club and enjoyed playing and working BINGO on Thursday nights and serving pancakes on the first Sunday of the month with the Men's Club.
