Louis (Lou) Colangelo
August 27, 1933-January 17, 2022

Wellington, FL - Louis (Lou) Colangelo, age 88, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2022. He was born August 27, 1933 in New York, NY, the son of Louis B. and Lorraine (Munday) Colangelo.

Lou grew up in College Point, NY and attended St. Fidelis Elementary and Newtown High School. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War. After the war he came home to College Point where he met and married his beautiful wife Margaret on November 3, 1956. Shortly after coming home, Lou started his career with Pan Am, formerly Pan American World Airways, where he worked until the company closed its doors in 1991 after 38 years of meritorious service. Lou enjoyed his years at Pan Am and retired as Director of Flight Operations in Miami, FL. His amazing career gave Lou the opportunity to work in New York, Miami, Boston, Berlin, Germany and back to Miami and to travel to many destinations with his beloved family.

Lou is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Colangelo, their daughter Laura Morris and her husband Andy of Wellington, FL, and son Robert Colangelo and wife Michelle of Port St. Lucie, FL,
his beloved Cousin Gloria LaMorgese, and two step-sisters Sharon Monahan and Diane Castalucci.

Lou leaves behind two Grandchildren Bobby Webb and his wife Danielle, and Andrew Morris and significant other Jaimie Bertram.

Lou also leaves behind four great grandchildren Mason, Hope, Colten and an unborn great grandchild on the way.

Lou was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Lou will be laid to rest at the South Florida National Cemetery.
