Lillian Kathleen (Katie) Braun of Lake Worth, Florida passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
She was born in Clayton, New Jersey to Lawrence Nutt and Harriet
(Falkenberg) Nutt.
She was married to Jack W. Braun for 52 years before he passed away in 2008. She is survived by her son
Andrew; his wife, Annie; son Jay; his wife, Kavita; brother, David Nutt; sister, Sally Venezia; and brother-
in-law, Eric Schrader. In addition to her husband she is predeceased by sister, Harriet (Tootie) Florio; Tootie's husband, Robert
Florio; sister, Nancy Duffey; Nancy's husband, Charles Rayford (Ray) Duffey; brother, James (Jimmy)
Nutt; Jimmy's wife, Harriet Nutt; David's wife, Marie Nutt; brother, Harrison Norrell; Sally's former
husband, Lawrence Venezia; and sister-in-law Barbara (nee Braun)Schrader . She is also survived by
innumerable nephews, nieces, and their children.
She was born during the great depression and after an early childhood in New Jersey she moved with
her family to Florida, living in both the Lake Worth and Orlando area. Kathleen married her sweetheart
Jack in September 1955 and she settled in the Lake Worth area for the remainder of her life, where she
raised her two sons. Katie and Jack's relationship and marriage serves as a model and inspiration to
many family and friends.
Kathleen was very active in her church and Emmaus communities. After retirement she enjoyed
volunteering in the church office and different ministries/groups. She enjoyed an extraordinary social
life including countless circles of friends from the 1940's onwards. She loved spending time with her
friends by shopping and keeping up with new home décor trends. Kathleen was the keeper of family
history and connections between Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, and California.
A memorial service will be held on August 20, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Community of Hope Church, West
Palm Beach Campus, 2341 S Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33415. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Refuge Ranch (serving adult women in addiction
recovery), Community of Hope Church, or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
