IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lawrence "Larry"
Edward Aronow
June 26, 1934 – November 1, 2024
Lawrence "Larry" Aronow, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on November 1, 2024. Born in 1934, Larry graduated from Bradley University in 1956, where he was a proud member of the AEPi fraternity. Shortly after graduation, he married his college sweetheart, Lenore, and was commissioned by the Air Force as a Base Accounting Officer at Naha Air Base in Okinawa. In his role, Larry handled responsibilities with a unique sense of humor and camaraderie, even becoming the Chairman of the Bingo Committee at the Officer's Club—a position that allowed him to travel across the Far East. Lenore joined him in Okinawa, embracing their new life and learning bridge, ikebana, and doll-making. Their time overseas was filled with adventure and treasured memories.
After returning to the U.S., Larry began his career at DuPont as a computer systems trainee in Wilmington, DE. His early hands-on experience led to a role with IBM in New York City, where he worked in large account systems development and marketing. During this period, he and Lenore moved to Long Island and welcomed their two sons. After a decade with IBM, Larry's entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found a computer leasing startup.
In 1972, Larry found his calling in executive search, building a respected New York-based firm specializing in executive recruitment. Over the next 25 years, he helped countless individuals find their professional path. Upon his retirement, Larry and Lenore moved to the Aberdeen Golf & Country Club in Boynton Beach, FL, where they enjoyed a vibrant community and made many cherished friends. Larry was chairman of the tennis committee and president of the HOA at Aberdeen.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife Lenore, sons Michael and Jerry, daughters-in-law Maureen and Doreen, two granddaughters, Michelle and Jennifer, and brother-in-law Richard and his wife Bergen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Molly. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to an Alzheimer's charity or the Special Olympics, causes close to their hearts.
