Obituary

Kimberly Ann Bauer, 68, of Lake Worth, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on March 30, 1957, in St. Michaels, Maryland, Kim lived a life defined by love, service, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.

Kim is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Michael Bauer, and their two daughters, Jennifer Bauer and Jessica Bauer. She was a proud grandmother to Gabriella Noack and Vincent Tyson (children of Jennifer), and Alexis, Antonia, and Jayce Allison (children of Jessica). She also had the joy of welcoming her great-granddaughter, Ophilia Moak (daughter of Alexis), whom she lovingly called her "Ladybug." Kim is also survived by her mother, Judith Filcheck, her siblings Anthony Filcheck (and niece Chloe Filcheck), Traci, Kris, Kerry, and Kelly Krick, and many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her loyal four-legged companion, Scout.

Kim was preceded in death by her father, Edward Filcheck, and siblings Kevin, Allan, and Kathleen Krick, as well as her first faithful companion, Princess.

Most of Kim's life was spent in Laurel, Maryland, where she raised her family and dedicated herself to her community. A passionate coach and mentor, she spent years leading youth basketball, softball, and cheerleading teams in Maryland City. Her heart for children also extended to her church, where she spent countless hours volunteering at the campground—working with the kids and serving tirelessly in the kitchen.
After retirement, Kim split her time between Laurel and West Palm Beach, Florida, cherishing every moment with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She found joy in simple pleasures: playing golf, being near the ocean, and bonding with her family, who were the center of her world.

Kim had a gift for connecting with people. Whether she had known you for decades or had just met you, she would treat you like family. She never hesitated to help anyone in need and had a unique ability to make people feel seen, heard, and loved.

When Kim was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, she faced it with remarkable strength and determination. Though the diagnosis was devastating, she remained composed and committed to fighting. Even in the most difficult days, she insisted on her independence, always trying to care for others even as her own strength waned. She fought with everything she had until the very end—a true testament to her unbreakable spirit.

Kimberly Ann Bauer will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her legacy of love, selflessness, and strength will continue to live on in those who were blessed to know her.

A Celebration of Kim's life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Palm Beach National Funeral Home and Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, FL 33449,  the family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.  A Celebration of Life service begins at 1:00 PM. Another Celebration of Kim's life will be held at a later in Maryland so her extended community can come together to honor her memory.

She was our rock, our coach, our comfort, and our light. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or another children's charity or cancer research organization of your choice—reflecting Kim's lifelong passion for helping others.
