Katherine " Katie" Nigro, 78,  passed away on July 24, 2020.  She had battled dementia for 12 years. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 6, 1942. After studying nursing and a successful career as Coordinating Manager of Radiology at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, she and her husband retired to Florida in 1992.
She was predeceased by her  beloved husband, Anthony and her siblings, Joseph, Jack and Clara Santora. She leaves behind her daughters, Toni Lynn DiPietro, Lori Mita and Kim (Anthony) Chapman. Her greatest joys in her life were her grandchildren, Michael Mita Jr and Andrew Mita, Brittany Chapman (Roland) Gutierrez, Kaylee Chapman and Anthony Chapman Jr. She is also survived by her " other" daughter, Cynthia Allen Glazier.
She will always be remembered by those who loved her as a strong, courageous woman with a great sense of humor who never knew a stranger.
