Julia Ann Levitt's Obituary
Julia Ann Zeto Levitt, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL was born on December 1st, 1926, and passed away on June 23rd, 2014, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Julia was born in Pittsburgh, PA. to James Zeto and Margaret Borella and attended South Hills High School in Pittsburgh, Pa., and then went on to attend Business Training College to become a secretary. She married George Levitt on April 15th, 1950 and continued working as a secretary to support him while he completed his P.H.D. in Chemistry.
She was a resident of Palm Beach Gardens, FL., for 12 years coming from Wilmington, DE. Julia and George had four children.
Julia is survived by her husband George Levitt of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and her loving children Barbara Klein of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and David Levitt of New York, sister Adeline Kirkwood of Jupiter, granddaughters Abigail Klein and Allyson Duffy. Two of her sons, Jeffrey Alan Levitt, and Gregory James Levitt predeceased her after hard fought struggles with brain cancer. She is also preceded in death by her parents James Zeto and Margaret Borella Zeto; siblings James Zeto, Anthony Zeto and Virginia Nightingale.
Julia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. When her children entered school, she went back to work as a women's clothing salesperson at Strawbridge and Clothier Department store, in Wilmington, De. Julia's interests included travel, theater, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite hobbies were arts and crafts, knitting and crocheting.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am - 12:00pm on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, FL 33449. Funeral service will be held at 12:15pm.
Interment will follow at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 S. State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Catholic Charities of Palm Beach. 9995 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33410 and or American Brian Tumor Association, 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Avenue, Suite 550, Chicago, IL 60631.
