Lyles, Sr.

John Thomas Lyles was born on July 24, 1923 to the late Mr. Robert Thomas Lyles and Mrs. Mamie Lyles in West Palm Beach, FL. He was baptized at a young age at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, FL.
He was a native of Palm Beach County and received his education within the Palm Beach County School District.
He was married to Mrs. Bernice Lyles for 84 years. From their union they gave birth to 5 children. He enlisted in the US Army on March 16, 1945. Upon returning from World War ll, he began his career at A&P as a grocery clerk until he retired.
Mr. Lyles passed away on September 24, 2025 peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by both parents, his son Tommy Lyles, & his 7 siblings Theresa Colson, Anna Bell Wilson, Donna Lyles, Gladys Givens, Robert Lyles, Glendola Thomas, Joseph Lyles.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bernice Lyles, of Riviera Beach, Fl. Two sons, Johnny Lyles, Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL & George Lyles (Janice) of Georgia . Two daughters Deborah Josie (Elrett) of Riviera Beach FL. Pamela Atkinson (Charles) of Marietta, GA. 20 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and family and friends.
