John L. Koen's Obituary
John L Koen Jr, age 69, of West Palm Beach, FL passed away on Thursday morning, September 6, 2012 surrounded by his family. John was born April 25th, 1943 in Mobile, AL. He served in the U.S. Navy as a SeaBee. He was deployed to Vietnam with the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 11 (MCB-11) supporting the U.S. Marines. He worked as a Public Utilities Supervisor for the City of West Palm Beach water department.
John enjoyed flying model airplanes, fishing, and spending time in his garden and caring for his numerous fruit trees.
John is survived by his wife, Kathleen, his son John and his daughter-in-law Christina of Wesley Chapel, FL, and his sister Jeanette Herrin of Saraland, AL, and his beloved dog Peaches.
John was a devoted and beloved husband and father. He will be missed but not forgotten.
A memorial service will be held 12:30 pm Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, FL 33449. The family will receive guests from 11:30 am -12:30 pm prior to the service. Committal service with military honors will follow in South Florida National Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made in John's name to Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation at http://www.hpbcf.org/
