Jewel Carmen "Bitsy" Sikes Nafis (age 79) passed away surrounded by family members on Sunday, January 29, 2023, after a prolonged illness. She was born May 4, 1943 in Mobile Alabama, the only child of Thomas "Frank" Sikes and Jewel Augusta Fell Sikes.

She is survived by her loving husband Paul Wilson Nafis. They were married on May 12, 1962, and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. While raising their 3 children Jewel attended Palm Beach Junior College and became a Registered Nurse then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree from Barry University. In addition to Nursing, she pursued her love of photography and was a proud member of the Professional Photography Association of the Palm Beaches.

She was predeceased by her grandson Mitchell Herrmann. She is survived by her son, Kenyon Paul Nafis (SanClair); her daughter Dawn Michelle Herrmann (Eduard); grandchildren, Ethan Eduard and Sierra Dawn; Her daughter Laurie Carmen Nafis (James Barker); Granddaughter Lauren Ashley Coldren (Aaron); great-grandhildren; Adam Deweese, Aden Paul, Amelia Jewel, and Liam Thomas. Granddaughter Leanna Christine Barker; great-grandson Landon Thomas. Nancy Groh (Matthew) great-grandchild on the way.

A service of remembrance will be held on February 14, 2023, at Palm Beach National Chapel in Lake Worth, Florida at 12:30 to be immediately followed by burial at South Florida National Cemetery.
