October 13, 1935 – January 31, 2023
It is with a heavy heart that the family of Harold 'Hank' Motzer, of Wellington, FL, announces his peaceful passing on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the age of 87. Hank will be lovingly remembered by his children John (Linda), Laurie (Jeff) Perkins, Lisa (Douglas) Lambert, and Mark (Mercedes). He will also be fondly remembered by his 2 great grandchildren, Arna Lasko and Ethan Brooks and by his 7 beloved grandchildren Michelle (Stephen) Brooks, Nicole (Kris) Lasko, Michael (Nikki) Perkins, Brent, Blake, Andrew, and Priscilla Lambert. He is survived by his siblings, John, Lorraine Keil, Dorothy Jakubowski and his many nieces, nephews and their children.
Harold was born in Burgenland, Austria to Adolf and Rose Motzer on October 13, 1935. As a small child, he came to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his parents and brother, Charles (Chuck). There he met his beloved wife of 59 years, Marilyn and they were married on May 23, 1959. He served in the US Army and then began his life-long home-building career. He started his career with Ryan homes in Pennsylvania and Ohio. Harold and his family moved to Wellington, FL in 1985 to continue building homes in the West Palm Beach area with MI Homes of Ohio. He retired at age of 72 from MI Homes.
His family and friends will remember him for his fun-loving spirit, his passion for fishing, his love for the Florida Gators and his great love of all things Pittsburgh - the Steelers, the Pirates and Penguins.
Harold's service & viewing will be on Thursday, February 9th at 3:00 p.m. at the Palm Beach National Chapel and he will be laid to rest on Friday, February 10th at 9:30 a.m. at the South Florida National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in his name
