Guilford (Guil) Robinson was born on June 22, 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Hosea and Hazel Robinson. He was one of seven brothers - Hosea, Jr., Clifford, Arnold, Maurice, Cornelius and Bernard. In 1957, while serving in the U. S. Army at Fort Monmouth, NJ, Guilford married his sweetheart for life, Effelee (Effie) McIntyre. After military service, Guil and Effie shared a long and eventful life together, raising three very successful children - Leasa Marie, Gary and Celeste. Guil attended Cleveland State University, obtaining a BA degree in Math and teacher certification. He then established an accomplished career as a Letter Carrier, Station Manager, Supervisor and PostMaster with the U. S. Postal Service. He was also a significant promoter of the inherent artistic (art, music, photography) and intellectual (math, science, computer science) abilities of his children and grandchildren.
In 1991, Guil and Effie retired to Royal Palm Beach, FL. There they enjoyed many years with their children and helped raise their grandchildren, Brianne and Rebecca. They were affectionately known as Mama Effie and Papa Guil. Guilford's life journey ended on December 25, 2025.
