Obituary

Gloria J. Hart, of suburban Lake Worth, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Monday April 23, 2012 after sustaining injuries in traffic accident. Gloria was born October 23, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Eugene & Lucille (Montarino) Carpenter and moving to the Lake Worth area in 1971 from Philadelphia, PA. She is predeceased by her first husband William J. Garlick and after his death Gloria relocated to South Florida, where she spent the last several decades of her life. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Fred, Eugene and Francis Carpenter. GiGi was an avid bingo player and was known as an energetic and spirited person, who in all her 86 years, never lost her enthusiasm for life. She had a generous nature and a genuine interest in all around her. She will be deeply missed by her family and lovingly remembered by all those who knew her. Gloria is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Robert F. Hart of Lake Worth; son, John Garlick of Philadelphia, PA; daughter, Gloria (Ted) Uszko of Bayville, NJ; brother, George (Sadie) Carpenter; grandchildren, Joseph (Kelly) Knortnik and Victor (Gina) Knortnik; and 4 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nephews and nieces. Funeral Services for GiGi will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, April 30, 2012 in the Chapel of Palm Beach National Chapel. Interment will follow at 1:15 PM at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth. In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2161 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL, 33407.
