IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George W.
Tsiminakis
March 5, 1944 – January 4, 2026
George Tsiminakis, beloved husband, devoted family member, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on January 4th, at the age of 81 in Delray Beach, Florida, surrounded by family and his loving wife, Ann.
Born on March 5th, 1944 in Kozani, Greece, George immigrated to the United States at the age of twelve with his mother and his brother, Kriton. He went on to attend Michigan State University, where he learned English, earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science, and later completed a master's degree in Labor Relations. George proudly served in the United States Marines. Throughout his professional career, George was known for negotiating union contracts with compassion and understanding, fostering friendships across the country.
George met his wife, Ann, at Michigan State University, and together they shared 56 years of a loving marriage. An active individual, George enjoyed skiing with his cousins in the western United States, playing racquetball, and running numerous marathons, including the Boston and San Francisco Marathons. He was a lifelong supporter of the Detroit Lions and Michigan State University's football and basketball teams. George remained actively engaged in politics and closely followed both local and international affairs.
George had a great love for travel, spending time throughout the Caribbean, Europe, especially Greece and Italy, and making several trips to Hawaii and Cancun, Mexico. As a part of his travels, George visited nearly every U.S. state. He and Ann eventually retired to the warmth and sunshine of Delray Beach, Florida, where they built a joyful life together.
Ann shared that George came to this country without speaking any English, and within six years became fluent. He was an incredible person who had extraordinary accomplishments. Ann feels deeply blessed to have been such a meaningful part of his life and will miss him forever.
Adored by his wife, family, friends, and all who knew him, George will be remembered for his kindness, intellect, and integrity.
