Obituary

George Edward Huston, 89, of Greenacres, Florida, passed away on September 8, 2025. He was born on January 10, 1936, in Portland, Maine.

He was the loving husband of 62 years to Janice Laskas Huston, before she passed away in June of 2023. He was a devoted father to his children, Debbie Sanders and husband, Thomas of Tolland, CT, Kathy Huston of Concord, CA, Jeffrey Huston and partner, Ann Johnston of Bridgton, ME, and Samantha Bollinger and husband, Ken of Abbottstown, PA. George was also a cherished grandfather to Kendall, Sydney, Lauren, Noah, Ryan, Ashley, Autumn, and Melissa, and a great-grandfather to Nora and Cameron. He is also survived by his sister Carol Coviello, brother Robert Huston, sister in law Patricia, and husband, Speros Fleggas, and brothers-in-law Nicolaos Laskas and John Kandilakis, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. George was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Yvette St. Cyr Huston and sister-in-law Catherine Kandilakis.

George attended Bristol High School. He enlisted in the Air Force and served from 1953 to 1957. After that, he was in the Air Force Reserves until 1961. He then joined the Bristol Police Department and later the Connecticut State Police, where he retired as Sergeant Huston. While working, he completed his Bachelor's Degree from Central Connecticut University. After retirement, he became a Zoning Enforcement Officer for the city of Bristol. George had an incredible work ethic and was proud of his service to his country and his career in law enforcement.

George and Jan retired to Greenacres, Florida. He enjoyed vacationing at their cottage in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, with his family, where he eventually retired to, for the summer months. George loved to watch his black and white movies, golf, fish, and his yearly cruises with Jan and friends.

George will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His way of telling stories and his sense of humor will forever be remembered by his family and friends.
