Francis J. Marcel, 79, of Greenacres, FL and formally of Leicester, MA departed this life on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 in West Palm Beach, FL. Frank was born on January 16, 1936 in Worcester, MA, to the late Francesco and Mary McCarthy-Marcel. He leaves behind his wife, Ann Duguay-Marcel; sons, Frank Marcel, Michael and wife, Kristen Bearden-Marcel, Matthew Marcel and wife, Kathleen McMahon; sisters, Mary Lou Smith, Elaine Roy and 2 beautiful granddaughters. He was predeceased by his daughter, Michelle Marcel.

Frank was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant, serving both active and reserve duties. In his retirement, Frank worked in personnel management for 10 years and later was employed by USPS and served as a Veteran's Agent for the town of Leicester, MA. He was also a member of many civic organizations including: the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks and the Air Force Sergeants Association.

He had a lifelong love of baseball and softball that led Frank to become commissioner of the Worcester County Senior Softball Athletic Association where he served 13 years.

Florida - Family will greet friends from 1PM to 3PM on Tuesday, March 24th at the Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Rd., Lake Worth, FL with a Celebration of Frank's Life to follow at 3PM.

Massachusetts - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at St. Aloysius - St. Jude Parrish, 491 Pleasant St., Leicester, MA 01524. Inurnment will be in Winchendon Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon, MA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Frank to his favorite charity: DAV, VA Regional Office, RM 1575B JFK Building, Government Center, Boston, MA 02203.
