Erika Marie Foster

August 24, 1942 - July 8, 2019

Loving daughter to Maria and Heinrich Belzner, sister to Karl, Wilhimina, Wilhelm, and Emma in Germany.  Loving wife to Thomas, caring mother to Peter, mother-in-law to Gudrun; grandmother (Oma) to Sean and Alexander; great grandmother to Thomas.  She was also an Aunt to many nieces and nephews throughout the world.

Erika lived a wonderful life.  She was born at the end of WW2 in post war West Germany.  Erika then trained as a beautician. She met her husband, Thomas, while he was in the Army stationed in Germany.

They were married on Dec 2 1961.   Following her husband to American and settling in Island Park, N.Y., Erika knew very little English but she persevered; they were expecting their first child.

Erika worked for a local beauty shop as beautician and after a few years - with help from her family - she was able to purchase and successfully run her own beauty parlor and a clothing boutique.

The family relocated to Boca Raton, Florida, where Erika was semi-retired for a short time but quickly returned to work; it was her passion.   Erika worked right until January 2019, when she was forced to stop working due to back surgery. Complications from that surgery and other health issues that followed, ultimately lead to her passing.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in her name.
