Doris Mary Gandolfo, nee Poole, 83, of Delray Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2014. Doris was born and raised in Hudson County, NJ later settling in Palisades Park with her husband, Julian, and their large and loving family.
Doris had an exceptionally generous and caring nature which served her well in her 40-plus year career as a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Hoboken, and later as a school nurse at Lindbergh, St. Michael's and St. Nicholas Schools in Palisades Park. She was an adoring and much-adored wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Whether she was known as Doris, Mom, Gram or Mrs. Gandolfo she touched all those around her.
Doris is survived by her husband, Julian, of Delray Beach, FL; her children, Julian Gandolfo, Janet D'Ambrosio, Barbara Restifo, James Gandolfo and his wife Catherine; her grandchildren, Karissa and her husband,Brian, Robert and his wife Nicole, Veronica and her husband Lucas, Christopher, Ashley and her husband Kevin, Anthony and his wife Aimee, Alexandria, Nina and Steve; and her great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Owen, Antonia, RJ, Tessa, Julian and Charleigh.
Arrangements for a Memorial.
A Memorial Mass will be conducted at Ascension Catholic Church on Thursday, January 23, 2014.
