Donald F. Morris, 93, of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

Don was born in Miami in 1932 and was one of nine children. From a young age, he worked on various marine vessels, including yachts owned by movie stars. At 17, he enlisted in the Navy to serve during the Korean war aboard the USS Navasota. After completing his service with the Navy, Don began a career with the Miami News. During that time, he enjoyed fishing, boating, swimming, shrimping, camping and traveling with his family. He taught his children the value of hard work and instilled in them a sense of pride in their efforts and life choices, showing them that what they do matters and that perseverance pays off.

After 35 years in the newspaper industry, Don retired from the Miami Herald as a pressroom supervisor at the age of 55. He and his wife, Mildred, relocated to Boynton Beach. Don enjoyed his retirement, cherished time with his wife of 62+ years and their four children, Doug, Andy, Patty and Peter, and also their grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also found joy in helping friends and neighbors within their condominium community. Don lived a wonderful and meaningful life, and everyone who knew him felt blessed to be part of his journey. He will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew him. As those closest to him know, "He did it his way".
