Dolores Castiglione Cappella (stage name Dolores Costello) entered into rest on June 25, 2014 in Boca Raton, FL. She was born in New Haven, CT. on July 30, 1930 and grew up in West Haven, CT. After she married, they moved to Lantana, FL, then to Delray Beach.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Joseph Cappella of Delray Beach, FL; and devoted son, Brian Cappella of Hypoluxo, FL; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She leaves one brother, Richard Castiglione of North Branford, CT. She leaves many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Dolores was predeceased by her parents Theresa Juliano Castiglione and Eugene Castiglione; brothers, John, Albert, Raymond, Gene; and sisters, Gloria Koehler and Geraldine DeAngelis. She was also predeceased by her Aunt Susan Julian, who accompanied Dolores on the piano as she sang professionally.

Dolores sang with several big bands at different venues in Connecticut including charities such as March of Dimes till moving to Florida, where she sang in Miami and Palm Beach. She gave up her singing career and later sold real estate with her husband at Cappella Realty in Lantana.

Dee, as she was known to her friends, was a warm, vibrant, caring person as well as a Loving Mother and Wife. She will surely be missed.


Funeral Service: Family will receive friends from 11:30am-12:30pm on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, FL 33449. Funeral Service will be held at 12:30pm.

Interment will follow at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33449.
