IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Delfin Adolfo
Garcia
September 26, 1935 – December 29, 2024
Delfin Adolfo Garcia, age 89, of Boca Raton, Florida, entered into eternal rest in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 29th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Delfin was born on September 26th, 1935 in Camarioca, Cuba, to Ricardo Ramón Garcia and María Laureana Díaz. Delfin and his 4 younger siblings, grew up on the family's farm, Gómez Dos Rosas. While still in his youth, the family relocated to Cardenas, Cuba, seeking a better way of life for the family.
With dreams and hopes of freedom from an impending Communist Socialist Revolution, Delfin left his beloved homeland in 1957 and came to the United States at the age of 17. Delfin found work in Union City, NJ where he was sponsored by a generous benefactor. It was there that he was introduced to the love of his life, Miriam, by mutual friends in 1964. Delfin and Miriam were married later that year, and their love story of 60 years began.
Delfin and Miriam relocated to Boca Raton, Florida in 1968 where they raised their three children, Maria, Barbi, and Rich. He began work as a server at the Boca Raton Resort and later began working for Rogers and Ford Construction Company in Boca Raton. Many of the buildings in Boca Raton were built "by Del". Del and "Mimi" raised their 3 children in the heart of Boca Raton and were active in their children's sports and scout troops.
Keeping his promise to his family in Cuba, Del sponsored many of his aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as friends and acquaintances, to find their way to freedom and helped them to emigrate to the United States over the course of three decades.
Delfin's life was defined by faith, family, and love for his adopted country. He will be remembered for his kindness, resilience, and devotion to those he held dear.
Delfin is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Miriam, and their three children and their spouses, María del Carmen Garcia of Wetumpka, AL, Barbara Ann Gerald (Steven) of Cumming, GA, and Ricardo Delfin Garcia (Andrea) of Boca Raton, FL; ten grandchildren, Christian Sullivan Rogers (Megan), Jacob Henry Rogers (Kaitlyn), Daniel Wilson Rogers (Kylyn), Rebecca Leigh Rogers, James Michael Rogers, Sarah Faith Rogers, Deana Hope Rogers, Peter Samuel Gerald, Ryler Sullivan Garcia, and Briella Reese Garcia; seven great-grandchildren, Sophia Claudia Rogers, Connor Sullivan Rogers, Zeplyn Grey Rogers, Joseph Sullivan Rogers, Noa Kate May, McKenna Jo May, and Declan Kelly Rogers; and countless extended family and friends.
