David B. Brown (Red) passed away on May 31, 2013 after a 3 month battle with cancer. A fighter until the end, he was under hospice care at his home with his family and friends by his side. Born on March 16, 1939, he was the second child of Lillian Brown Souden and Edward Brown. After proudly serving in the United States Coast Guard, he became an award winning hair stylist and opened David's Hair Styling in Carteret New Jersey. An avid boater and golfer, Dave and his family moved to Lake Park FL in 1992. He continued his career with his extended family including Larry Duke and the barbers and customers of the Village Barber Shop in Royal Palm Beach. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. He had a passion for life and enjoyed everyday. He always had a joke or story and was willing to share. His heart of gold made it difficult to say no to anyone. He will be remembered fondly and missed forever. His legacy will live on. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Claire Brown, his daughter Stacey, his sons Dave (Debbie) and Scott, grandchildren Walter, Amanda, Dave, brothers Donald (Patti) and Buzz (Denise), and Happy, his devoted dog. A memorial service will be held at Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Rd, Lake Worth, FL 33449 on Sunday June 9th at 2 PM with a reception to follow until 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in the memory of David B. Brown may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County.
