David Leonard Block, a devoted husband, father, and Poppie, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, at the age of 96.

David Leonard Block was born January 31, 1928, in the Bronx, New York to Meyer and Sylvia Block, brother to Ralph and Barbara. David lived a life marked by dedication to his family, career, and country. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952 as a sergeant with the 116th Combat Engineers Unit. In this role, he oversaw critical engineering tasks such as constructing and repairing bridges and improving roads. For his service, he was awarded the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Following his military service, David built a successful career in the electronics industry on Long Island, New York. He was a partner at States Electronics for over a decade, contributing significantly to the field through his expertise and leadership.

David married Ruth Block on July 21, 1990, and shared 34 wonderful years of marriage with her. Together they had a loving family that brought him immense joy. He is survived by his wife Ruth; his sister Barbara; his children and stepchildren; Steven (Gina) Block, Karen Block, Jeanne (Robert) Yandolino; and his cherished grandchildren Jared, Julia, Gabrielle, Luke, Georgie, Frankie, and Jake.

In addition to his professional accomplishments and devotion to family, David found great fulfilment in his hobbies. He enjoyed staying active through fitness, tennis, golf and had a passion for cooking, reading, music, dancing, and of course, he loved his family—interests that reflected his zest for life.

David was predeceased by his parents Meyer and Sylvia Block, his brother Ralph, and brother-in-law George (Buddy) Ginsberg.

David's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him as a kind and dedicated man who enriched their lives in countless ways. May his legacy bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.

A gathering will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, Florida.  A Memorial Service will follow at 11:30 AM. A Service at South Florida National Cemetery with military honors will be held at 1:00 PM.
