Obituary

Daniel E. Militello (94) went home on Sunday, May 10th to be with his Savior. He was born on April 18, 1921 in Buffalo, New York. He is survived by his german war bride of nearly 70 years, Katharina Trost Militello; his son Robert Franz Militello and his wife, Camille of Pensacola, FL; his daughter Marlene Siringo and her husband Carmen of Newark, DE; and his daughter Linda Cangelosi of Windham, NY; 11 grandchildren: Gregory & Joshua Militello; Kathryne Schmidt & Elissa Martin; Krista, Frank Scott & Gina Siringo; Eric & Kurt Cangelosi; Danielle Ingram & Nicole Chimienti; and 12+ great-grandchildren: Max, Tyler & Wesley Schmidt; Hannah, Isabelle & Sam Gallivan; Luca Siringo; Alessandro, Anthony & Vincent Cangelosi; Katharina & Nicholas Chimienti; and #13 in a few weeks. Danny is also survived by his sister, Eleanor Aliberti of Delray Beach, FL.

He was a devoted son and brother to three sisters, cherished father-in-law, uncle, cousin, mentor and reliable friend to many. Danny was a man of genuine kindness; a warm, friendly soul, great conversationalist who made everyone feel comfortable. He was a professional jockey, WWII combat veteran, a devoted family man, a successful entrepreneur - he was anything but boring.

For nearly 40 years, most important to him was spiritual truth. Danny was a shameless spokesperson for his Savior. He looked at life with the same understanding that Jesus had.
"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" Mark 8:36
Danny was given grace to know what really mattered. He was prepared to leave this world because he sincerely believed what his favorite crooner sang - "The Best is Yet to Come".

Service is scheduled for Thursday, May 21 at 11:30 AM, Palm Beach National Chapel, 10055 Heritage Farms Road, Lake Worth, FL 33449. Immediately following service, Daniel will be inurned at Veterans National Cemetery, at 1:15 pm. Family and friends are welcome to celebrate his life.
