Constance A. Ducharme, age 91, of Chicopee, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
Born on May 30, 1933, in Chicopee, MA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Matilda (Cote) Mann. Constance led a full and vibrant life, marked by deep devotion to her family, her faith, and her community.
She is lovingly survived by her three daughters, Mary Atkins and her husband Wayne, Heidi Nowak and her husband Chet, and Kelly Hosey and her husband Jim. She also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchild. Constance was predeceased by her beloved husband of 37 years, Paul Ducharme, her son Tony Payne, and her siblings Francis Mann, Doris Hamel, Theresa Keenan, and Faith Mill, along with their spouses.
As a military spouse for nearly 20 years, Constance lived with her family at bases around the world, embracing each new place with grace and resilience. She later retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserve Civil Service, where she worked as a dedicated telephone operator.
A loving and nurturing mother, Constance had an unwavering devotion to her family. She adored her eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and took joy in being present in their lives.
A devout Catholic, she was a proud member of her parish community, where she sang in the choir and volunteered regularly. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life.
Constance enjoyed an active lifestyle and a wide circle of friends. She loved to travel, bowl, and never missed her daily walks. She participated in water aerobics and maintained a consistent exercise routine well into her later years. She also delighted in playing bingo, ballroom dancing, and being a member of the Red Hat Society, where she enjoyed socializing and sharing laughter with friends and neighbors. She was also an avid reader, always carrying a book along with her.
Constance will be remembered for her warmth, her sense of fun, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
